This web blog was created by Dr. Melony Shemberger, a marathoner, ultramarathoner and triathlete who loves running the most and is a proud member of the 2010 Brooks Inspire Daily (I.D.) Running Team. She has been invited back for sponsorship by Brooks as a member of the Brooks I.D. P.A.C.E. (Performance and Coaching Elite) Team. In 2010, she was second runner-up female in Tennessee in the Brooks I.D. race series. She also is a Level 1 USA Track and Field coach and is member No. 359 of the Run It Fast Club. She is past membership chair of the Clarksville Running Club in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her husband, Russ Shemberger, is an award-winning triathlete who is coached by FTP Coaching based in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Melony also is coached by FTP for significant races. Russ works as a licensed massage therapist for two companies: Murray Transition Massage in Murray, Kentucky, and Restore Performance Massage in Clarksville. He specializes in sports massage and trigger point release.

The couple enjoy the sport of triathlon, and it was Russ who encouraged Melony to create this site. There are many others who enjoy the benefits that swimming, cycling and running bring to their lives. So, in essence, this site has been created for you. Get the latest race announcements, check out where the races are in middle Tennessee, west Kentucky and the surrounding region, get a dose of inspiration through the words of others and see the faces of those you might know. This site is interactive, so please feel free to post comments.

If you would like to have your race publicized on this site or have results or photos to share, please email melonyshemberger@ymail.com.

Thanks for creating this, our area has needed something like this for a while. If I send you the information about the Starfish 5K, will you put it on your site ?
Again, thank you so much !

    • Hi, Leigh! Yes, I will be more than happy to post information about the Starfish 5K. I ran it last year, and it was a great race! Send me all the details and an entry form, and I’ll make sure to upload it.

      Happy Running!

Love your site. I check it at least daily for results and future runs. I am a new runner, started last year and boy am I hooked. I haven’t talked with you or Russ yet but I’ve seen you at several races. Keep up all the hard work.

I feel bad this is the first time I’ve been on your site. Sorry, it’s kick butt.
